Curl Preparation – Beautiful Curls pH Facts

Beautiful Curls shampoos are a basic, usually 7.0, pH for two main reasons. Because we do not use harsh sulfates in our shampoo, we utilize a more base pH to help break up dirt, buildup & excess oils. Also, when the cuticle layer of the hair shaft opens, this allows the Beautiful Curls Conditioner to penetrate the hair strand down to the cortex, where moisture is most beneficial.

Beautiful Curls Conditioners are all leave-in conditioners with an acidic pH of 4.0 – 4.5. (After shampooing hair with Beautiful Curls Shampoo, Condition with Beautiful Curls Leave-In Conditioner.) Beautiful Curls Conditioner moisturizes deeply into the hair shaft and smoothes the cuticle down for a shiny, healthy appearance.

Beautiful Curls Curl Enhancing Set

Hair Care Tips - Wet hair thoroughly and apply shampoo from roots to ends. Work into lather and rinse thoroughly. (Do not attempt to detangle yet.) Apply Beautiful Curls Leave-In Conditioner, working a small amount through the ends first to detangle, and then through the rest of the hair. We recommend detangling with a Beautiful Curls Wide Tooth Comb. (Do not rinse hair!)

Towel Squeeze hair without fluffing. Apply Curl Activating Cream or Curl Enhancing Gel to damp hair, starting at the ends and working your way up to the scalp. Arrange curls into your desired style. Hair can be scrunched, diffused, twisted, air dried, or braided. Enjoy your Beautiful Curls!

So, how does this apply to using the Shea Butter deep conditioning treatment? It is not a leave-in. Is it also ph 4-4.5? Do you have to use the leave-in after the deep conditioner to balance your hair's ph?
